Kellam Mattie is the Chief Marketing Officer & Vice President of Marketing and Innovation for the Venturing & Emerging Brands (VEB) business unit of Coca-Cola North America. Mattie is responsible for leading all VEB brand businesses, as well as mission-seeking and nurturing new opportunities to build the next generation of total beverage portfolio growth. VEB was established in 2007, with the ambitious purpose of finding and developing the next generation of brands with billion-dollar potential for The Coca-Cola Company. Under Mattie’s purview is a diverse collection of rapidly-growing beverage brands across a number of categories, both wholly-owned and investment brands, including Topo Chico, Honest Tea, ZICO, Fairlife, Hubert’s Lemonade, Hansen’s Soda, Suja and more.
Mattie has over 20-years of marketing, venturing and leadership experience. She began her marketing career with The Coca-Cola Company in 1997 as a Brand Manager for Coca-Cola Classic. In her many years with the company, Mattie has touched a number of billion-dollar brands -- most notably launching DASANI in 1999 and managing the brand for another four consecutive years.
Prior to her time at The Coca-Cola Company, Mattie was Partner and Director at The Zyman Group -- a consultancy owned by Coca-Cola’s former Chief Marketing Officer, Sergio Zyman. Here she led marketing strategy for brands such as Evian, Healthy Choice, Coors Light and Borders Books. Later, Mattie founded a successful marketing consulting firm of her own, called Flourish Marketing. This successful venture served clients such as Heaven Hill Brands (Evan Williams Bourbon, Elijah Craig, Burnett’s Vodka, Hpnotiq, PAMA and others), Invisalign, Promethean Technology, ServiceMaster and Elf on the Shelf. Together with her clients, Mattie successfully launched and repositioned dozens of consumer-packaged goods brands and has developed strategic growth plans for businesses in categories from jeans to jewels, credit cards to cognac.
Mattie earned both her undergraduate degree and MBA from Duke University. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and three children. She is actively involved with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she has served as Fundraising Board President and has chaired a number of fundraising initiatives.
